Technology has made my life a gift and a curse. As I’ve moved out on my own, I’ve become much more selective with my money, and my time. Now, I’ll be the first to tell you I’m in love with 3 things: music, basketball and TV (Sometimes, I watch a basketball game on my TV and turn the volume down to listen to music). And I’m proud to say I finally got my streaming game down pact with Google Chromecast and borrowing my friend’s Netflix account.

But recently, it’s become very obvious that the dynamics of TV is changing. I’m one of a small number of Millennials that I know that actually pays for cable; most go no further than Netflix or Apple TV. But with the new move that HBO has just pulled off with their streaming service, I think we are entering a new frontier.

But why haven’t cable services gone towards this obvious direction? Money? Greed? Probably, but whoever is the first major TV provider to give you access to the channels that YOU want and you ONLY pay for those channels, can you say cash by the boat load? Not that these giant corporations are missing any meals now, but why not conform to the market?

I only want MTVJams and NBAtv, why can’t I get that? Why must I pay for channels like QVC, when I’m never going to buy a pants suit for my Mom. I’m sorry Mom, I’m just not!

With music, TV and everything else at our fingertips, it’s time that the grandfathers that are running the major TV providers get on board and offer an on-demand selective TV service. Maybe I’m just being a Millennial and demanding service, or maybe I’m just an observant person who sees the answer right in front of them.

I’m going to go with the latter.
